Now that you're off to working with a startup, we have a few expectations of you until August, 2018

Constant Feedback and Communication

Please do your best to keep in touch. We'd love to learn about how you are doing in and outside of work. Please be persistent on Slack and communicate with your cohort of interns + the Hacker Fellows core team.

One Blog Post

We ask each of you to write a single blog post about their experience in Hacker Fellows and launching a career at a startup. We call the blog series, "Intern Files." We'd like you to write about a topic that is currently relevant while keeping in mind that your readership are future interns/fellows. Here are some examples.

The content strategy will take an intern (or multiple) per week to write and submit a blog post via email under these parameters:

  • 1,500 words (or less)
  • Written in first person
  • Content pertaining to tech, work/personal life, startups, etc...
  • Contains much photo content or other media

Summer Off-Site

Every internship and fellowship program, we plan a professional development retreat for Hacker Fellows. During this session we reflect on previous work experiences, discuss successes, obstacles and needed improvements. It's a great way to get the group of ten back together, all in one place!

This session will be on or close to June 29th, 2018 from 9am to 5pm. Your companies have previously signed off on you being able to attend a day-long session.
